Sturmpanzer IV - Sd.Kfz.166 – 1/35
This is the Sturmpanzer IV - Sd.Kfz.166 from Tamiya in 1/35 scale. This is an old kit that was used as a test bed for some new weathering techniques I wanted to try. Some faded swirl marks in paint by adding sodium to the latex masking – worked great but could be closer to scale. Also tried a new way to produce fresh rust with a mix of oil and pastel – excellent! The oil will allow a powdered look without the color coming off when you touch it. I even ran it under distilled water just to see what happens, didn't budge – great!. All doors will open and are held in place with latex rubber as so to not hurt the paint. The gun will elevate without scratching the paint and the side armor can be removed. I replaced some details such as tools, etc. with leftover dragon parts because they just look better. Very realistic looking model and will make a great addition to any collection.
PHOTO NOTE: Photography was taken with a Cannon S5 IS digital camera with florescent lighting.
